Celia Davies
Celia Davies is a multi-media artist and instructor, working from her home studio in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.
She studied Art and Design in her college years, and although retired from full-time teaching, she has a part-time position instructing in art and craft on luxury cruise liners.
Her work is mainly created using mixed media with a combination of fluid-based materials, such as alcohol inks and epoxy resin. These liquids have properties which she uses to create unique pieces of art. The appeal of the inks and resin is that their pigments pool in unusual ways. When poured, they create fascinating patterns which she manipulates by hand to produce individual, expressive, and striking paintings.
Celia creates contemporary pieces that marry well with modern interiors. Her collaborators include interior designers, and a furniture range featuring her work has recently been exhibited at “Grand Designs Live” in London.
Her distinctive large-scale abstracts are incorporated into several commercial and residential design projects in and around Lancashire and London.
In addition to ongoing commissions, her paintings can be viewed in several prestigious galleries in the North West of England. She sells originals and limited hand-embellished signed prints and has collectors both in the U.K. and overseas.
Bespoke commissions and small group workshops are available on request.
